WINEMAKER’S NOTES

A cool wet summer originally gave us some concerns about the vintage but patience was rewarded with a hot dry harvest season that allowed grapes to ripen fully. Our half acre block of Semillon vines planted in 2005 and are maturing nicely on the farm. This variety is only grown in a few vineyards in Niagara but it continues to impress us as the vines age. After harvest and fermentation the wine was aged in older French oak barrels for 18 months.

TASTING NOTES

This wine has intense aromas of orchard fruit flavours and aromas of peach and pear with notes of honey. A complex and layered wine that will pair with creamy washed rind cheeses like Camembert.
