Fifty years ago, Karl J. Kaiser and Donald Ziraldo began a partnership that, against all odds, forever changed the course of Canadian wine. Together, they founded Inniskillin Wines, built on a shared dream to craft world-class, authentically Canadian wines right here in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Half a century later, that pioneering spirit lives on. Winemaker Andrea (Drea) Kaiser, daughter of the late Karl J. Kaiser, is proud to celebrate this remarkable milestone through a special collaboration with Ziraldo — a reunion that brings their families and legacies full circle.

The Drea x Ziraldo 50th Anniversary Gift Pack is a tribute to legacy, innovation, and the enduring bond that started it all. The 2019 vintage of this wine was praised by world-renowned wine writer Jancis Robinson as “…its own master. Not a copy of any other Sauvignon Blanc style.” This wine beautifully reflects the intent Karl and Donald shared — from the very beginning — to create authentically Canadian wines.

Drea’s 2023 Small Batch Cabernet Franc:
Score 90, Decanter World Wine Awards
Crafted from a small vineyard block in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where Matthias Oppenlaender planted vines in 1999 for Karl’s Legacy Cabernet Franc. This wine showcases the elegance and character that define the region’s signature red variety.

Ziraldo 2022 Vidal Icewine:
Vidal Icewine exudes rich aromas of ripe mango, apricot, and honey, with subtle notes of tropical fruit and white flowers — a pure expression of Niagara terroir and craftsmanship. Vidal Icewine is best known for putting Canadian winemaking on the map when the 1989 vintage won the Grand Prix d’Honneur in 1991 at Vinexpo in France.
