Drea’s Small Batch Wines are crafted in Niagara-on-the-Lake by Andrea Kaiser, daughter of world-renowned winemaker Karl J. Kaiser who co-founded Inniskillin Wines. As a visionary pioneer, his contributions to modern Canadian winemaking cannot be understated. She closely follows the tenants of her father’s winemaking philosophies with a focus on natural fruit flavours and aromas, making bone dry wines that are well balanced with a bright acidity. The wines in her collection are an expression of his legacy and are dedicated to her father, who affectionately called her ‘Drea’.

Since being released, her wines have taken the wine world by storm, receiving International Critical Acclaim including her Sauvignon Blanc being marked as distinguished by renowned wine writer Jancis Robinson. Her wines are regularly recognized at the International Wine Challenge and TEXSOM and served around the world including the Canadian Embassy in Washington D.C. Most recently her Rosato was named as one of the top Canadian Rosés by Decanter Magazine and her Dornfelder was listed at one of Canada’s first Michelin Star Restaurants.

“My father liked Dornfelder for Canada as he loved its deep dark colour and juicy fruit flavours, not always easy to find in cool climate reds. He always appreciated the natural fruit flavours in his wines, so my Dornfelder was crafted with this in mind. The bright characteristic flavours and aromas of blackberry shine as fermenting and aging was only in stainless steel tanks. The wine, however, has an unexpected depth of flavour as a result of the fermentation process taking place a2er the free run juice was drawn off for my Rosato. The remaining ‘must’ therefore had a higher concentration of natural tannin found in the skins and seeds.”
