WINEMAKER’S NOTES

It's a special place where the mighty Niagara River meets the long gentle easterly slopes of our vineyard. A favoured place where tender grape varieties thrive in sunlight and warmth. Temperate breezes ward off early spring and late fall frosts drawing cold air away from the vines and into the river gorge allowing fruit to fully ripen. The soils, developed on the bedrock of the Queenston Formation forged over 400 million years ago are red shale with a high silt and clay content encouraging vines to grow deep, establish wide root systems, and devote all their energy to fruit production. A place gifted by Mother Nature, in the heart of Niagara's Wine Country. 

TASTING NOTES

A fruit forward bright red blend of Gamay Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with aromatic notes of red cherry and blackberry. On the palate, more cherries and touch of cassis with subtle spice notes and soft tannins. Always a crowd pleaser, a lovely weekday wine to match with a cheese burger or lasagna or on the weekend pair with grilled flank steak or beef kabobs with sweet onion, cherry tomato and halloumi cheese.
